The first look of the Netflix Betal web series has been released under the banner of Red Chillies Entertainment, the production house of Shah Rukh Khan, the king of Hindi cinema. Shah Rukh’s original web series is made for Netflix, one of India’s largest OTT platforms and Netflix has shared the first look of the series on its social media account.

The series is directed by Patrick Graham. Patrick Graham has previously directed Radhika Apte’s horror thriller mini-series ‘Gul’ for Netflix. This web series is based on the fictional stories of zombies.

In this story, there is a remote village in which suddenly 2-century old Betal returns with his battalion. This betel was once an officer of the British Indian Army, who returned after two hundred years with an army of zombies and started infecting the villagers. The police try to fight this army of zombies but they become helpless in the face of supernatural forces.

Netflix Betal web series will feature actors like Vineet Kumar, Ahana Kumra, Suchitra Pillai, Jitendra Joshi, Manjari Pupala and Saina Anand in the lead roles.

Shahrukh Khan himself is keeping a distance from the screen, but behind the scenes, he is constantly investing money on film and digital projects. Shahrukh has produced Emraan Hashmi’s web series ‘Bard of Blood’ before this web series. Apart from this, he is also producing a series ‘Class of 83’ by Bobby Deol.

Shah Rukh was last seen in the 2018 film ‘Zero’ starring Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles. After this film neither Shah Rukh announced any film nor did Anushka Sharma. Like Shah Rukh, Anushka Sharma is also going to broadcast Amazon Prime Video’s web series ‘Patal Lok’ in her production from May 15.
