Amazon Prime Mirzapur Season 2
The season 2 of Mirzapur has been given the nod. But when will the next season be released? Season two of Mirzapur is presently in the development, Farhan Akhtar (the executive producer) verified to the media. Mirzapur is the Indian thriller show about 2 brothers who get involved in a world of mafia, violence, and drugs. Amazon also verified the news by launching a small teaser video in February 2019 for the new series.
Amazon Prime has not yet verified a launch date for season two of Mirzapur. The first series was launched in November, so it is possible that the second season will have the same launch date. We will update you soon as soon as we get more details. Akhtar claimed to the media that: “Yes, there will be a second season.” On the other hand, he also verified that the crew and cast of Mirzapur had not begun the filming for the new show yet.
This might indicate a launch date in 2020 but expectedly the season two of Mirzapur will drop in the H2 of this year. There were 9 episodes in the first series, so it is expected that season 2 will have the same number of episodes.

An official cast list has not been launched by Amazon Prime Video but expectedly, the primary cast will come back, alive or dead. Actor Ali Fazal who is Guddu Pandit, one of the main characters of the shows, verified that he might like to return.
He claimed to the media: “I feel Amazon has had a very stimulating connection with India since it has suddenly spread similar to a wildfire.“
He stated: “I was not shocked when that Mirzapur arrived from Amazon, I might like there to be one more series but I do not know.”
Fazal also claimed that: “Expectedly early in 2020. We are expecting to bring you back to the realm of Mirzapur. Hence early in 2020 we might, but before season two, I have some movie deals to finish both abroad and here and yes, then after that we will start.”
It is not clear if Vikrant Massey (Dharam Veer actor) will be back as Bablu, Guddu’s brother after he was killed in the finale of season 1.
Speaking to the media, Massey claimed: “Fairly, when I began shooting for the web show, I was not told about the death of my character. I came to know about it after 15 days of shooting. I was taken aback a little. It was a well-scripted character and I would not have taken out, but I had no hint about this.”
