The Witcher will roll out on the streaming service sometime toward the end of this year, as per an earnings call by Netflix as well as reported from the media.

The TV series for The Witcher was produced by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, who earlier collaborated on shows such as The West Wing, Parenthood, and Daredevil. Andrzej Sapkowski, who authored the books on which The Witcher TV series and games are based, is working as a creative consultant for the web series. That is a positive hint in itself, as Sapkowski has never been shy about offering his disdain for The Hexer, the earlier live-action version of his work.
Henry Cavill will feature as Geralt of Rivia (the rugged monster hunter). Other cast members comprise Yennefer of Vengerberg (played by Anya Chalotra), Princess Ciri (played by Freya Allan), King Eist (played by Björn Hlynur Haraldsson), Queen Calanthe (played by Jodhi May), Tissaia (played by MyAnna Buring), Mousesack (played by Adam Levy), Sabrina (played by Therica Wilson-Read), Fringilla (played by Mimi Ndiweni), and Princess Renfri (played by Millie Brady).
