New Upcoming Original HBO Series 2019
HBO made an entry in 2019 getting ready for the conclusion to conclude all concluding: Game of Thrones final season was launched March. What’s New Upcoming HBO Series 2019? Here are some upcoming series in 2019 that you might expect from the streaming giant later this year.
New Upcoming HBO Series 2019
Big Little Lies Season 2 Series
Launch Date: Spring 2019
Writers: Liane Moriarty and David E. Kelley
Cast: Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Laura Dern, Shailene Woodley, Zoe Kravitz, Meryl Streep, and Adam Scott
Directors: Andrea Arnold
Till now, Reese Witherspoon and his group have done a fine job of silencing skeptics. Certainly, “Big Little Lies” was initially imagined as a restricted show, and yes, its projected series finale is one of the most pleasing twist conclusions ever. But how can any fan dispute against a new edition of the series with Meryl Streep already included in the star cast? The second season promises the finest actress of her generation as the revengeful mother-in-law having a visit to Monterey to create chaos in the lives of Reese Witherspoon (playing role of Madeline), Shailene Woodley (playing role of Jane), Nicole Kidman (playing role of Celeste), Zoë Kravitz (playing role of Bonnie), and Laura Dern (playing role of Renata). Plotlines outside of Streep are being kept secret for now.
Veep Season 7 Series
Launch Date: Spring 2019
Writers: Lewis Morton, David Mandel, Frank Rich, Rachel Axler, and more
Cast: Tony Hale, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Reid Scott, Anna Chlumsky, Matt Walsh, Timothy Simons, Kevin Dunn, Gary Cole, Sarah Sutherland, Sam Richardson, Hugh Laurie, and Clea DuVall
Directors: Brad Hall, David Mandel, Becky Martin, and more
Even with more fine scripted series than ever, 2018 felt a bit blank without scathing political satire by HBO—Veep. The Emmy-winning series took a year break while Julia Louis-Dreyfus got better from her breast cancer therapy, but she is back and healthier than before. And the series might be ready to get going. Wrapping up with a 7-episode last season, the last go-round of David Mandel with Selina Meyer will answer the eventual doubt: Can the second option ever turn out to be an unblemished, true victor? The White House might appear out of sight, but that does not mean Selina cannot find happiness or mortify herself trying.
The Righteous Gemstones Series
Launch Date: Fall 2019
Writer: Danny McBride
Cast: Danny McBride, John Goodman, Edi Patterson, Adam Devine, Greg Alan Williams, and Cassidy Freeman
Directors: Jody Hill and David Gordon Green
The people behind Vice Principals and Eastbound and Down have their eyes set on an even more controversial point of Southern pride versus education and baseball. Jody Hill, Danny McBride, and David Gordon Green’s The Righteous Gemstones narrate the tale of a world renowned televangelist family with a lengthy custom of greed, deviance, and charitable work—all in the name of God. Eli Gemstone (playing the role of John Goodman), a world-famous minister and the Patriarch of the family runs a tight ship around the house and a weekly TV program. Danny McBride is his elder son, Jesse, who aims to be his father’s successor while extending his church for more new followers, while the rest of the Gemstones diverge from the wishes of their leader only as far as they can.
Lovecraft Country Series
Launch Date: TBA
Writer: Misha Green
Cast: Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Jonathan Majors, Michael K. Williams, Courtney B. Vance, Aunjanue Ellis, Wunmi Mosaku, Jamie Harris, and Elizabeth Debicki
Producers: Jordan Peele, Misha Green, J.J. Abrams, Yann Demange, and Ben Stephenson
Director: Yann Demange
With people such as Jordan Peele and J.J. Abrams behind the camera along with a cast having Courtney B. Vance and Elizabeth Debicki in front of it, Lovecraft Country might be a huge deal no matter where the basic story originates from, but familiarity with 2016 novel by Matt Ruff of the same moniker only increases the excitement. The hour-long horror/drama web show by HBO follows sci-fi writer Jonathan Majors (playing role of Atticus Freeman) on a road trip all over Jim Crow America at the time of the 1950s turbulent. Freeman is searching for his missing father, a personal and unbending mission that makes the racist menaces perking up around him worth dealing with—not to cite the H.P. Lovecraft monsters coming all around him to life. If Peele influences the racial overtones and Abrams manages the sci-fi, Lovecraft Country can be a rationally stimulating hit.
His Dark Materials Series
Launch Date: TBA 2019
Writers: Phillip Pullman, Jack Thorne, Toby Emmerich, Carolyn Blackwood, Julie Gardner, Deborah Forte, Bethan Jones, Ben Irving, Jane Tranter, Dan McCulloch, Laurie Borg, and Piers Wenger
Cast: Ruth Wilson, James McAvoy, Clarke Peters, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Archie Barnes, Ariyon Bakare, Georgina Campbell, Geoff Bell, Anne-Marie Duff, James Cosmo, Daniel Frogson, Mat Fraser, Tyler Howitt, Ian Gelder, Will Keen, Dafne Keen, Simon Manyonda, Lewin Lloyd, and Lucian Msamati
Director: Tom Hooper
Everyone requires a teen adult franchise and HBO has been deeply falling short in teen appeal since rolling out its millennial-based streaming platform in 2015. His Dark Materials is based on three YA novels by Philip Pullman and initially created by the BBC, which already selected season 2 prior to the first premiered. Even though there have been a number of parallels to Christianity drawn from the text, the series majorly features 2 children who come from an epoch while discovering parallel universes. With a respected brand moniker (New Line attempted to roll out a franchise with the 2007 movie The Golden Compass), respected actors such as Ruth Wilson, James McAvoy, and Lin-Manuel Miranda, along with the confident supporting of one more network, this appears like a no-brainer series for HBO. Bring the series to the States, see if you can snare some additional users, and perhaps it will get one more popular franchise to make money from.
In addition to this, there are a number of web series that will be launched in 2019. Stay tuned to get more updates on those series. We will update you as soon as we get any details.
