Nithiin, the actor, took to Twitter to share the news “It’s a visual thriller that will keep your attention. From the 17th of September, you can watch all of the action in Disney+ Hotstar Multiplex Maestro.”
Maestro is a remake of the popular Bollywood film Andhadhun, which starred Ayushmann Khurrana, Tabu, and Radhika Apte in the key parts. Maestro is directed by Ayushmann Khurrana. Nithiin will repeat his role as Ayushmann Khurana in the Telugu remake, which will be directed by Merlapaka Gandhi, and Nabha Natesh will portray Radhika Apte’s character in the Tamil version. Tamannaah will play Tabu’s role in Maestro, which is based on the Hindi film of the same name.
Tamannah, one of the most well-known actors in southern India, was most recently featured in the web series A November Story. She will also serve as the host of the first season of MasterChef Telugu, which will air on the Gemini channel in the coming months.
Sudhakar Reddy and his wife, Nikhitha Reddy, are the financiers of Maestro. The film’s soundtrack is being composed by Mahati Swara Sagar, and the cinematography is being handled by Hari K Vedanth.
Following Nani’s Tuck Jagadish, this is the second major Telugu film to announce a direct-to-consumer online release in recent months. The Tuck Jagadish crew has stated that the film would be released on Amazon Prime Video on Vinayaka Chavithi, which is celebrated in India.
There has also been opposition to films being released only through OTT platforms in Telangana. In a conference conducted in July, the Telangana State Film Chamber of Commerce encouraged makers and distributors of films to hold off on releasing their films till the scenario allows for theatres to reopen on October 31 until the situation permits. However, as a result of the epidemic, the beleaguered film business is increasingly resorting to over-the-top (OTT) platforms, which provide a lucrative revenue stream.
While that was going on, other films such as Sridevi Soda Center and Ichata Vahanamulu Nilupa Radu were released in theatres across the Telugu-speaking states on Friday.
In a release date announcement, the makers of the Maestro film, which will star Nithiin, Tamannaah, and Nabha Natesh, stated that the film will be released on Saturday, August 28. The film will be released on Disney+ Hotstar, an online streaming service, on September 17, 2021.
