Grantchester features the 1950s and is based in the Cambridge shire town of the same name. The web show is based on a series of short stories dubbed as The Grantchester Mysteries by James Runcie. Admirers of the series are keen to know if season 6 will be made.
Grantchester Season 6 Release Date
Season five of the series was only launched in January 2020 and contains six episodes. The final episode of season 5 was highly appreciated. Even though season 6 has not yet been declared, it is expected to launch in early 2021. The earlier two seasons have been launched in January, with the final episodes launching in February 2020.
What will happen in Grantchester season 6?
If it gets the go-ahead season 6 will pick up from the previous investigation of season 5. The synopsis for the final episode stated: “When a woman is found dead, laid out in the shape of a crucifix on Jesus Green, Will and Geordie discover the ring on her finger proves she was married to God.”
A new season will carry on exploring mysterious deaths with the primary characters Will and Geordie looking into the matter. The pair forges an unlikely partnership to resolve mysterious crimes.
Who will be in the cast of Grantchester season 6?
Tom Brittney and Robson Green are expected to take up their roles one more time as the two primary characters. Green is DI Geordie Keating—the Second World War veteran. Brittney, who first appeared in season 4, is Reverend Will Davenport. They will be joined by Tessa Peake-Jones as the vicarage’s housekeeper, Sylvia Chapman.
